Five O’Clock Shadow (7 minutes)

Five O’ Clock Shadow is the story of an Indian-American mother who is the victim of racial abuse. Her worst fear rises to the surface and for the first time ever, she asks the question: Do we really belong here?

John Mendez – The Bridge (14 minutes)
Directed by Michael Kuba

Homelessness is everywhere. John Mendez is on the frontlines of the fight against homelessness in Montgomery County, MD, just outside of Washington, D.C. Often times battling extreme cold in the middle of the night, John works tirelessly to find affordable housing for each individual living on the streets.

Outrigged! (23 minutes)
Directed by Danny Mydlack

Like the ancient Polynesians before them, the beatnik-boatbuilders of the late 1950s and ‘60s sought escape from impending doom. The alternative history of the modern yacht has been left in the hands of one man. Jim Brown is blind, bug-eyed and bad-assed. He is Tidewater, Virginia’s Henry Ford, Herman Melville and Jack Kerouac all rolled into one. Jim tells the story of the “lunatic fringe”, the daredevils and flameouts who made the modern sailboat fly and still haunt its ghostly shadows.
